Ground-breaking film producer and director Jack Bond joins us!

Screening and Q&A with Jack Bond

Our film season at the Filmhouse in Edinburgh explores the representation of women’s mental health since the golden age of Hollywood through the work of pioneering British based actor, writer and director Jane Arden.

 

A screening of Separation (1pm, Sat 17th), a provocative and challenging account of one woman’s inner struggle written by and starring Arden will be followed by a Q&A with British director Jack Bond; Arden’s long-term creative collaborator.

Film Star at the Festival!

Scottish Actor Gary Lewis takes part in post film discussion at Paisley Arts Centre

Tuesday 13th October at 7pm

 

Paisley Arts Centre is screening a series of films during the week commencing 12 October as part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival (mhfestival.com).

 

On Tuesday 13 October at 7pm, the arts centre will be screening Peter Mullan's highly-acclaimed gritty film Orphans starring Gary Lewis, Douglas Henshall and Stephen McCole. The film is a deeply-moving yet soul-wrenching portrayal of the effects of bereavement and will be followed by a post film discussion with Glasgow born Gary Lewis.

‘Fifty Cents For Your Soul’ Film Season

A number of stunning films featuring iconic Hollywood women kicks off at the Filmhouse on Friday 9th October as part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival.

Festival gets off to a flying start!

The Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival got off to a flying start with record attendances.

The festival kicked of in style in the beautiful surroundings of the Old Fruitmarket with the Music like a Vitamin opening concert featuring Emma Pollock, Karine Polwart, Alasdair Roberts, James Yorkston and Adrian Crowley and culminating in a unique collaboration between the artists.
