Scottish Actor Gary Lewis takes part in post film discussion at Paisley Arts Centre
Tuesday 13th October at 7pm
Paisley Arts Centre is screening a series of films during the week commencing 12 October as part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival (mhfestival.com).
On Tuesday 13 October at 7pm, the arts centre will be screening Peter Mullan's highly-acclaimed gritty film Orphans starring Gary Lewis, Douglas Henshall and Stephen McCole. The film is a deeply-moving yet soul-wrenching portrayal of the effects of bereavement and will be followed by a post film discussion with Glasgow born Gary Lewis.
Lewis has, since Orphans, played a number of high profile roles (Martin Scorsese’s Gangs of New York), and landed his international breakthrough part as the father of a young boy who wants to become a ballet dancer in Billy Elliot (2000).
Also showing at Paisley Arts Centre as part of the Festival is Terry Gilliam’s dramatic comedy about redemption, The Fisher King (Weds 14 at 2pm) starring Robin Williams and Jeff Bridges. Plus a screening of Tim Burton’s classic Edward Scissorhands (Thurs 15 at 7pm) featuring one of Johnny Depp’s most famous roles will also take place. All screenings are followed by discussions.
Tickets can be booked for film screenings on 0141 887 1010, or available on the night at Paisley Arts Centre. All tickets cost £4.
